JERUSALEM — The IDF announced the names of two soldiers who fell in combat in the Gaza strip.

Sergeant Major (res.) Eliraz Gabai z”l, 37 years old from Petah Tikvah, served in the 7810th Battalion of the Yiftach Brigade and was killed in central Gaza.

Gabai is survived by his parents (who live in Tiberias), sister, and pregnant wife who is expecting their first child. His wife Coral wrote on her Instagram page: “What is the meaning of being a widow at age 27? Your wife is yours forever and loves you to the point of physical pain, you are the love of my life. My heart refuses to believe that you won’t return.”

A week ago Eliraz celebrated his birthday and Coral wrote to him that he should come back safe and healthy “and I promise to deal with the rest, just come back healthy.”

Eliraz’s mother said that had volunteered despite not being obligated to enlist because he believed in helping shoulder to shoulder and said “We are all brothers, we’re all Jews, together we will win.”

Sergeant First Class (res.) Liav Seada z”l, 23 years old, from Tiberias served in the 7107th combat engineering battalion and was killed in northern Gaza.
