JERUSALEM — After Israeli business entrepeneur Michael Eisenberg defended Elon Musk against recent claims that he supports antisemitic elements, Musk wrote an X tweet in response consisting of a Hebrew verse from the book of Proverbs. The tweet garnered over 10 million views in less than 12 hours, with numerous responses.

Eisenberg wrote a lengthy analysis of claims that Musk is enabling antisemitism on his platform, and claimed that the criticism against the billionaire was misplaced.

“We need business, political, state, and international allies to rebuild Gaza in the decades ahead,” he wrote in a tweet after Musk’s visit to Israel. “Elon Musk is certainly one of a number of honorable and fitting partners, not as a financial partner with lots of money, but as a strategic partner with many abilities to be part of a genuinely new Middle East.”

Eisenberg added that Musk was the first person to attack the trope “From the river to the sea”, correctly identifying it as a call for a renewed Holocaust in Israel. The same trope has not been banned even in the most prominent universities.

In response, Musk posted the verse from Mishlei (Proverbs 16:16), “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver”, in the original Hebrew.

Eisenberg joked that Musk could participate in Israel’s Bible quiz based on his biblical knowledge.

During last week’s visit to Israel, Musk toured Kfar Azza together with prime minister Netanyahu, noting the horrific destruction that Hamas terrorists wrought. President Isaac Herzog arranged a meeting between Musk and the families of the hostages.

Rachel, mother of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an American citizen being held captive by Hamas, told Elon Musk, “We know they’re innocent civilians in Gaza who are also suffering terribly. We as families are suffering horribly, and we would appreciate any of your help that you can provide and thank you for coming.”

Also speaking was Malki, father of Omer Shem-Tov, who is being held captive by Hamas. Malki told Elon Musk, “I know that you’re a very powerful man, and I think every support from you can raise our voices in order to bring the hostages back. That will be something very, very meaningful for all the families. Thank you.” He then presented Mr. Musk with a necklace bearing the words “Bring Them Home”.
