The strikes hit an outpost controlled by Iran’s Quds Force and associated militias, according to Reuters.

Two Syrian soldiers were killed and two others were wounded early on Monday morning in alleged Israeli airstrikes targeting Damascus International Airport, the SANA Syrian state news agency reported.

SANA added that material damage had been sustained in the strikes as well and that the airport was temporarily out of service following the strikes.

“Military source: The Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression at dawn today with bursts of missiles from the direction of the northeast of Lake Tiberias, targeting Damascus International Airport and its surroundings,” SANA tweeted.

Reuters cited regional intelligence sources as saying that the strikes hit an outpost controlled by Iran’s Quds Force and associated militias.

Previous alleged Israeli airstrikes in Syria

Last month, The Jerusalem Post cited Al-Arabiya as reporting that alleged Israeli airstrikes targeted sites south of Damascus and near Damascus International Airport, including what anonymous sources said were sites used by Hezbollah to conduct research and development on Iranian-made drones.
