COLORADO – A Jewish couple from Los Angels was involved in a horrific car crash in the state of Colorado killing the wife, and severely injuring the husband.

The accident happen Wednesday night around 5.30 p.m., in Idaho Springs on I-70 between Exit 240 CO 103 and Exit 241.

33 year old Leora and Joel Ezoory were on their anniversary trip to Denver when their Jeep Compass Trailhawk struck a semi that had broken down on the shoulder of the roadway.

Leora was pronounced deceased when emergency responders arrived, and Joel was rushed to a Denver area hospital with serious injuries.

The semi driver was in the cab during the crash and was not injured.

The Interstate 70 was closed for about three hours. All lanes reopened to traffic after 9 p.m.

The Ezoory’s are parents to 5 children, the youngest only 7 months old, and the oldest only 11 years old.

The Ezoory’s belonged to Rabbi Shmuel Einhorn the Khal Zichron Moshe Shul on Beverly Blvd.
