In addition, agreements have been reached to deescalate tensions between Hamas and Israel, according to Palestinian reports.

The Great March of Return protests to be held tomorrow in Gaza will be “nonviolent,” said the spokesperson for the military wing of Islamic Jihad on Friday.

The group warned, however, that the death of any protesters will be met with war.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian security delegation met today in Gaza with organizers of the Great March of Return to try to deescalate tensions in anticipation of large-scale protests tomorrow marking the anniversary of the march.

According to the Hamas paper al-Risallah, over the course of the meeting, understandings were achieved to the effect that tomorrow’s protests will take place without violence. The paper asserted that Qatar agreed to “transfer a grant of $40 million” to Hamas, which will be extended by the end of the year.

The agreement received the approval of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim al Thani.

The paper also asserted that Israel agreed to the establishment of a reservoir in Gaza, as well as extending Gaza’s fishing zone by 12 nautical miles, and the construction of an industrial zone near the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza. As a further part of the agreement, the United Nations will provide employment for 20,000 Gaza academics, in addition to the current 6,000.
