Make sure to set your clocks—on the night between Thursday and Friday, the clocks will jump from 2am to 3am.

Israel Summer Time (IST) will start in Israel at 2am this Friday, advancing the clock by 1 hour to 3am.

IST will last 219 days and will end on October 28, 2017. Winter time lasted 145 days.

Summer time was extended by former Minister of the Interior Gideon Sa’ar, who, after years of disagreement with the religious parties accepted his committee’s conclusions and extended IST by three weeks.

According to the DST examination committee, the three weeks’ extension of IST has resulted in 300 million shekels of reduced economic expenditure.
