A Southwest airlines employee who was shot at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport died Tuesday prompting a manhunt for his killer, the Associated Press reported.

Oklahoma City police said they found a suspect, who has not been identified, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound late Tuesday in a truck located in an airport parking garage, the AP report said.

The victim, 52-year-old Michael Winchester, was shot before 1pm. and died after being taken to a hospital, according to the AP.

Winchester was a former University of Oklahoma football player and has a son who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, the AP report said.

TV station News 9 said the shooting happened outside a parking garage.

“We have confirmed one victim shot at Will Rogers Airport. Please avoid going to the airport at this time. We will keep you posted.” Oklahoma City Police said on its Twitter feed.

“If you are inside of the airport, shelter in place until advised otherwise,” police said. The airport said on Twitter that all arrivals and departures are suspended until further notice.

The airport is the main commercial air hub for Oklahoma City and provides an average of 150 flights a day, the airport said.
