New York – Hillary Clinton has assailed President Donald Trump at a commencement speech, saying he ignored the special counsel’s findings on Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 election.
The Democrat who lost to Trump addressed Hunter College graduates Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. She spoke hours after Robert Mueller made his first public comments about his investigation into election meddling.
In her speech, Clinton said that “what we’ve seen from the administration is a complete refusal to condemn a foreign power who attacked our democracy.” Trump has said Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied any such interference.
Clinton also condemned the administration for supporting policies that she said amounted to “an assault on the rule of law.” She cited a ban on travel to the U.S. by citizens of several Muslim-majority nations and separating children from their parents at border crossings.
