Three people have been taken hostage by an unknown gunman at a post office in Colombes, a northwest suburb of Paris, French media reported Friday.
The gunman is armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, French RTL radio reports. He is holding from two to five people hostage, Le Figaro reports, citing police sources.
The hostages were seized at about 12:00 GMT when a man rushed into the post office with a weapon. Negotiations with the assailant have started, RT reports.
Police sources indicate it may be an attempt of armed robbery.
