WASHINGTON – Six Israeli hostages who were recently freed from Hamas captivity are currently in Washington, D.C., where they had a high-profile meeting with President Donald Trump and senior U.S. officials. The delegation includes Doron Steinbrecher, Eli Sharabi, Naama Levy, Iair Horn, Omer Shem Tov, and Keith and Aviva Siegel.

These survivors were released under a recent agreement between the U.S., Israel, and Hamas, marking a significant step in efforts to secure the release of hostages held by militant groups in Gaza. The Israeli delegation’s visit underscores the importance of continued diplomatic engagement and the need for strategic international alliances in the fight to secure peace and human rights in the region.
President Trump met with the delegation this afternoon, where they shared their personal stories. Omar Shem Tov, one of the survivors, told the president, “You are the hope of the hostages.” Shem Tov further expressed his family’s deep gratitude, adding, “My family and I believe you were sent by God to rescue the hostages.”

During the meeting, the former hostages presented President Trump with a gold plaque inscribed with the phrase, “Whoever saves one life is as if he had saved the entire world.” This meaningful gesture reflects their profound appreciation for the efforts made to secure their release and underscores the life-saving importance of international cooperation in such humanitarian crises.
The survivors’ appearance in Washington is part of a broader push to raise awareness about the plight of hostages and further advocate for diplomatic measures aimed at preventing further violence and securing the release of those still in captivity.
