CALIFORNIA — With a massive wildfire engulfing thousands of acres in the Los Angeles Area, a Chabad Rabbi and his community appear to be safe, and were able to rescue their Sifrei Torah, despite a portion of their campus suffering damage.

In addition, it appears all the families belonging to the Chabd community are safe BH.

The Chabad Jewish Community Center of Pacific Palisades is located in an area that was struck by the wildfire.

“While we lost sixteen of our beautiful precious public Menorahs, they were in a storage area aligned to our parking lot,” Rabbi Zushe Cunin said in an interview with ABC News. “Thankfully our campus building is intact.”

“Thank G-d we’re safe,” said Rabbi Sholom Diskin. “With G-d’s help, we are certain our community will survive and rebuild stronger than ever.”

The fire has burned more than 2,900 acres as of this evening.

As the fire was spreading near the Chabad center, preparations were, made including removing the Sifrei Torah before they were in danger. According to one frum news site, a video showing a portion of the Chabad on fire is a storage facility used by the Chabad.
