Model Stephanie Seymour, arrested in January on a drunken driving charge, will enter a diversionary program that could result in the charges being dismissed, her attorney said Monday.
Police arrested Seymour, 47, in Greenwich, Connecticut, on January 15 after she allegedly backed her Land Rover into another car at an interstate exit ramp.
A police officer called to the scene said Seymour was unsteady on her feet and had a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from her mouth.
On Monday, a judge agreed to allow her to enter the Connecticut Alcohol Education Program and a state accelerated rehabilitation program, attorney Phillip Russell said.
“She addressed the court directly, and apologized to the court, the people involved in the minor accident, the prosecution and the police,” Russell said.
Seymour was “satisfied” with the ruling and “feels like she was treated fairly,” he said.
