New York, NY – New York City officials are summoning additional emergency workers to help clean up after the snowstorm.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says the city will pay $13.50 for the first 40 hours of work in a week, then $20.25.
Especially needed are workers to remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants and steps.
Those interested must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the United States, and capable of performing heavy physical labor.
They must register at sanitation garages around the city each day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with two small photos, plus two forms of ID.
