Palestinian rioters on Wednesday threw Molotov cocktails

IDF soldiers fired back at the group, injuring two, Israel Radio reported. No soldiers were injured.

Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra told the Palestinian news agency Ma’an that Israeli soldiers fired at Palestinian protesters east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, injuring one in the leg.

The injured man was taken to Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in moderate condition, the report said.

Wednesday was the latest clash between Gazans and IDF troops in recent weeks. Palestinians from Gaza have demonstrated near the border in solidarity with West Bank Palestinians, and have broken through the border fence with Israel on several occasions.

During a visit to the IDF’s Gaza Division headquarters in the Western Negev last week, IDF officials told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the security situation at the Israel-Gaza border was “under control.”
