Rockland County, NY – The Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy of Rockland says it plans to raise a dilapidated 69 year-old cottage in Ponoma after vandals used the structure’s roof to leave an anti-East Ramapo school district message in spray paint.

LOHUD.com reports that police are actively searching for the vandals who used the cottage’s roof as an illegal billboard, writing, “E RAMAPO SCHOOL BOARD IS RACIST AND PERSECUTES STUDENTS HISTORY REPEATS.”

The single-family cottage, which sits about 50 yards off Route 45 on a 3.55 acre lot purchased by the yeshiva in May 0f 2007 for $425K, has a current total assessment value of about $76,500 according to the Ramapo Tax Assessor’s Office.

Reps for Adolph Schreiber have yet to comment, but Detective Lt. Mark Emma said he learned about the school’s plans to raise the building during a conversation with principal Ari Jacobson.

“The building is supposedly being razed,” Emma said. “The school’s rabbi told us no one was given permission to write on the building.”
