Jerusalem – Jewish extremists attacked a police officer in uniform who entered a synagogue to pray in the Mea Shearim neighborhood on Thursday.
The officer did not require medical treatment.
Following the incident, the Israel Police said it views seriously the harming of its officers and that it will endeavor to locate and arrest the suspect.
Israeli media identified the police office who was attacked as Rabbi Eliyahu Charlap.
Over the last two years, since the Israeli draft law practice, many soldiers complained that were attacked in the streets of Mea Shearim while wearing the IDF uniforms.
