Brooklyn, NY – Authorities have made an arrest after a 93-year-old man was fatally struck by two vehicles, a car and a tractor-trailer, that fled the scene in Brooklyn Tuesday.

Police say Janice Vargas-Cruz is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

As previously reported, on VIN News, a 93-year-old man who has been identified as Milwood Hughes was first hit by a tractor-trailer and then a black sedan on Albany Avenue in Crown Heights.

Police say Vargas-Cruz is believed to be the driver of the sedan. In surveillance video, they say she appeared to get out of the car and check on Hughes before fleeing.

Residents in the area say that Hughes lived on the street, and was well-known and liked by everyone.

Police are continuing to search for the truck driver.
