The Israel Air Force carried out an air strike of a rocket launcher in northern Gaza used by terrorists to fire on Israel earlier on Tuesday night, the IDF said.

The military placed the onus on Gaza’s ruling Hamas faction to take responsibility for projectile fire emanating from the coastal Palestinian enclave.

“Hamas is the address and it bears responsibility,” the IDF added.

Gazan terrorists fired a single rocket at southern Israel earlier on Tuesday night, setting off air raid sirens in the regions of Yad Mordechai, Karmiya, Zikim, and Nativ Ha’asara.

The IDF said the rocket fell in an open area in the Yad Mordechai region. No injuries or damage were reported. No terrorist group took immediate responsibility for Tuesday’s attack.

IDF sources said they detected one rocket launch from Gaza and local residents reported hearing a blast.

Rocket launchings have become an almost weekly occurrence from the Hamas-controlled coastal strip recently.

A group that sympathizes with al-Qaida, who have defied Hamas, have been blamed for other recent strikes, none of which caused injuries or damage.
